Watch Some Art In Some Unexpected Places
2009 Pixel Pops
2009 | PixelPops! Zürich, Switzerland
The fifth edition of Pixel Pops!, an annual, travelling digital art exhibition, took place at The Corridor, BolteLang in Zürich, Switzerland. Films were shown on two monitors that were positioned to be viewed from outside the gallery, thus echoing the orchestration of desire in shop windows. Curator Aoife Rosenmeyer selected the works following an international call for films that responded to the location, format and thematic of the show.

The resulting group of 27 short, silent, films come from artists around the globe. At a time of year when dark streets enhance the appeal of commercial displays, these films challenged viewers' expectations; all of them engaged directly or implicitly with forms of presentation, thwarted longing and the urban experience.
